The Brice Method is a pulmonary rehabilitation programme of breathing techniques and breathing exercises, designed to help people with COPD improve their breathing, their movement and their lifestyle.
The Brice Method is the culmination of 9 years of delivery of Pulmonary Rehabilitation for the NHS. Working with nearly 2000 patients over this period, the programme has evolved into an innovative, simple to follow, step by step approach to coping with COPD. Paul has written the Brice Method into a book called, ‘COPD innovative breathing techniques’ and this is now available at all the major online bookshops.
‘Feedback from the last 260 patients show that within the first session alone patients have managed to improve their breathing quality by 64%. Using a visual analogue scale, patients report a pre-session score of 4.8/10 and a post session score of 7.9/10, a change most find simply extraordinary.’
The Method is a bespoke programme that is taught over an 8 week period with weekly 50 minute sessions, and you will be given personalised exercises to help you master your new breathing techniques. You will also be given a kit of training aids and gym equipment, which will help you get the most from the programme.
The Brice Method is designed to be delivered a on a one to one basis, at Paul’s clinic in Great Yarmouth.
The cost of the Brice Method course is £450.00 per person.
If you live outside of the East Anglia area, Paul may be able to come to you. In this instance the Method can be taught over a 2 day weekend, and you will be supported with a further 7 weekly phone or facetime consultations as follow up. This will incur additional costs to cover travel and travel time, but will help those who find travelling to East Anglia challenging.

I work in block bookings of 5 sessions at a time. I do this because my clients find they need time to understand absorb and digest the very personalised exercises that I recommend. Usually, poor posture, work related imbalances, or the domino effect of poor health has taken years if not decades to occur. Clients realise they won’t fix themselves in one or two sessions.
My methods generally require you to commit to take on some homework exercises or gym focused activity to learn new movement patterns. You can spread the sessions over a many weeks as you like, and I will advise what I feel is appropriate for you..
(BWell members and referrals from existing clients get a preferential rates of £150 for 5 session block bookings)
I offer individual rehabilitation or personal training sessions which last approximately 55 minutes. These sessions are for those who want a one off programme of exercises which can either be written and drawn out ( I am always complimented on my anatomically correct stickmen) or with videos of the exercises emailed directly to you. I find that I can not use video libraries as I tweek and personalise every exercise to each client. No two bodies are the same.

I first met Paul in 2015 by a friend recommending him to me. I had spoken to several personal trainers in the months running up to meeting Paul however I didn’t feel any of them offered me an individual tailored package like Paul was able to do.
My priority was to find a trainer that had experience with multi discipline sports and knowledge of sports psychology who I could trust.
After two years of working with Paul I was able to trust him quickly by making me feel valued and relaxed around him. He demonstrated his wide range of knowledge and experience to me of nutrition, techniques of multi disciplined sport, personal development, self confidence, goal setting and self belief.
No matter what issue I have put to him we have found a solution, including wanting to do a triathlon when I had only just learnt to swim. Through that trust of not being laughed at, Paul gave me the self belief to not only enter a triathlon but to finish in the top half of my age group. My progression was achieved through his support, guidance, encouragement and knowledge by goal setting with regular meetings.
My biggest concern at first of working with a personal trainer was I didn’t want to feel silly or belittled and it was imperative I could trust them. I have found Paul very approachable and easy to talk to and cannot thank him enough for the support and self belief he has given me.
